Front Load Dumpster FAQs

Q: What size dumpster do I need?

A: A good rule of thumb is that a 2 yard dumpster will hold three to four residential carts.  Most retail stores will order an 8 yard dumpster serviced weekly and then service can be adjusted to every other week if you find the container is not being filled up.  Review the dimensions for front load containers to decide which container might suit your purposes or call the office at (252)527-5040 to schedule having a sales rep visit your site.

Q: What materials can NOT be placed in the dumpster?

A: Generally speaking any hazardous waste, liquids or special wastes such as paints or pesticides may not be disposed of in a front load container.  Further some types of materials may not be mixed in the load if they are required by law to be recycled such as cardboard.  Many area disposal facilities have strict fines for contaminated loads.  Special handling is required for appliances and computers.  Please review our list of prohibited materials for further details.

Q: People are dumping trash in my dumpster.  What can I do?

A: Unfortunately, illegal dumping is a reality these days.  We recommend putting a "No Trespassing" decal on your dumpster and have them available for $5 a decal.  This will enable you to deter and prosecute "dumpster divers".  If your problem persists we offer gravity locks which are available at a cost of $75 for the one time installation and $5 per month service charge.

Q: Do I need to do anything special on the day I have a scheduled dump?

A: Be sure to maintain clear and safe access.  Also, you will need to ensure there are no vehicles parked in front or on the sides of the container. If containers are not accessible or are overloaded when the driver arrives there is a trip charge to have them return at a later time.
